These general conditions and regulations governing the use of electric vehicle charging stations (hereafter referred to as “Terms & Conditions“) define the relationship between EV Quic and users of its charging points. These Terms & Conditions apply to all users of the charging stations, both registered and unregistered, who receive services from EV Quic for the temporary use of electric vehicle charging points.
In regard to these, the terms used here have the following meanings:
refers to Company BRIG AL-HALLOUL Ltd. (EV Quic), a legally established entity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It offers users access to electric vehicle charging points and, either independently or in collaboration with the owner of the charging station or charging point, sets the prices for charging services. These prices are clearly displayed on the EV Quic platform for users utilizing the electric vehicle charging points.
Users can access charging locations and stations available on the EV Quic platform and mobile app, whether they are registered or unregistered. The General Terms of Use apply to all users—both registered and unregistered—when utilizing these electric car charging facilities.
The service usage and associated fees vary based on whether the user is registered or not.
Registered Users establish a subscription relationship with the service provider during the registration process and create a user account. They can access charging stations using an RFID card issued by EV Quic upon request or directly through the EV Quic platform or mobile app.
Unregistered Users can access their chosen chargers by scanning the QR code located on the charger or by entering the charger’s ID number on the website. Before using the service, unregistered users must provide their email address to which a fiscal invoice will be sent. They will then be directed to the payment operator’s webpage to enter their payment card details. After the transaction, the payment card will be charged the indicated amount, and a fiscal invoice will be sent to the provided email address. By utilizing the charging stations visible on the EV Quic platform and mobile app, users agree to these Terms and Conditions, along with the General Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Upon authentication—either by scanning the QR code on the charger or entering the charger’s ID number on the website—registered users have one minute to initiate a charging session. This initial minute is free of charge and does not count towards the service fees. If the user fails to start a charging session within that minute, they will need to authenticate again by scanning the QR code or entering the charger’s ID number.
Before starting using the Service, the Registered User performs an identification process. The identification of the registered User is carried out to ensure the application of conditions provided exclusively for registered Users.
Registered Users can be identified via an RFID card or other technical devices or means (such as an online platform or mobile phone application) provided by the Service Provider. The Service User chooses a specific method of identification during registration and can change it later as per the General Terms of Use of the EV Quic platform and mobile application.
The User is charged a fee for using the Service according to the current price list displayed on the platform and on the mobile IOS and Android application or according to the prices made available to the User in another way.
The Service fees valid at any time are defined in more detail on the platform for each selected charging point, as well as on the mobile IOS and Android applications. The Service fees may vary at different charging points. Fees for using the charging point may differ depending on whether the User is registered or unregistered, using the one-time payment option. Fees for using the charging point are always displayed before the start of the charging session itself.
The Unregistered User pays the Service fee as per the current price list displayed on the platform for each selected charging point, as well as on the mobile IOS and Android applications.
The Registered User is charged for the provision of the Service on a subscription basis, all as per the General Terms of Use of the EV Quic platform and mobile application.
In addition to the service fee, users may incur an additional IDLE FEE if their electric vehicle remains connected to the charger after the end of a charging session. This fee is waived for the first 15 minutes. However, a charge of SAR 1.25 will apply for each minute beyond the initial 15 minutes that the vehicle remains connected. The IDLE FEE will be deducted from the user’s registered payment card. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, users agree to be charged this fee for leaving their vehicle connected to the charger after a charging session has been completed.
The User is responsible for maintaining their electric vehicle in good working condition to ensure the Service is provided safely and effectively, and to prevent potential damage to the charging point or vehicle due to faulty equipment or installations.
The User agrees not to unnecessarily activate the emergency button, which is only intended for urgent situations where there is a risk of danger or breakdown. Instead, the User should start and stop charging sessions using the mobile app, online platform, or RFID card.
When using a charging point, the User must carefully follow the instructions displayed at each station.
The User is also required to release the Service Provider from any liability and to compensate them, as well as any third party, for any damage caused by non-compliance with these terms.
Additionally, the User agrees to hold the Service Provider harmless and to compensate them, as well as any third parties, for any damage caused by the User’s negligence, carelessness, or failure to follow instructions when using the charging point.
In the event of potential or actual damage, both the User and the Service Provider must take reasonable measures to prevent or mitigate the damage. If the User notices any issues or irregularities while using the charging station, they must notify the Service Provider immediately and follow the instructions provided at the station.
The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and its affiliates are responsible for maintaining a stable power grid, ensuring quality electricity, and managing the grid’s balance. This means the Service Provider is not liable for any issues related to the power grid. In case of a grid failure, SEC will either increase power from alternative sources or reduce consumption. Charging points can automatically reduce charging power during a grid failure, causing brief interruptions that may result in a change in charging speed or a halt in charging.
The Service Provider is not liable for any potential grid failures, voltage issues, or Internet outages, including errors that occur during the electric vehicle charging service resulting from the User’s failure to follow the usage instructions, the terms outlined in these Terms and Conditions, or malfunctions of the RFID charging card or any other technical identification methods due to physical damage or other problems related to the use or operation of the charging service.
The User can view real-time availability of charging points on the EV Quic platform and mobile application, indicated by a color code: green for free charging spots, red for occupied charging spots, green-red for charging stations with multiple points (where one is occupied and another is available), and grey for unavailable stations.
The Service Provider and/or owner of the charging station can temporarily or permanently suspend the availability of certain charging stations due to maintenance, repairs, or other factors affecting their accessibility to the User. In such cases, the affected station will be clearly marked on the online platform and/or mobile application.
The User agrees to vacate the charging spot once their service is complete, ensuring it’s available for the next user.
The Service Provider reserves the right to temporarily suspend service at specific charging points for maintenance and upgrade purposes. Additionally, service interruptions may occur to manage and balance the power grid, improve electricity supply quality, and address related issues. Any unavailable charging points will be indicated in real-time on our online platform and mobile app, as outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
The Service Provider may deny or immediately terminate service to a User if required by law, court orders, or suspected account abuse. This includes instances where a User breaches the terms of the Agreement, uses the Service improperly, or engages in illegal activities. The Service Provider may also temporarily restrict or suspend services if a User fails to fulfill their obligations.
In cases where service interruptions are caused by a User’s actions, such as failing to follow usage instructions, the User remains responsible for paying for the Service up to the point of interruption and fulfilling any other outstanding obligations to the Service Provider.
The Service Provider reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions, including the prices and content of services, at any time.
The Service Provider is committed to notifying Users of any changes by posting an announcement on the online platform or mobile application.
If the User continues to utilize the Services after such notification, it will be deemed as their acceptance of the changes.
Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions be deemed inappropriate or invalid, it will not affect the validity and applicability of the remaining provisions.
The relationship between the User and the Service Provider is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The competent court in Riyadh will handle any disputes that cannot be resolved through mutual agreement.
These Terms and Conditions form an essential part of all Agreements made between the Service Provider and Users concerning the use of charging points, the regional EV Quic platform, and the mobile application. By accepting these terms, the User confirms that they have read, understood, and fully agreed to it.
